Mavericks vs. Celtics Player Props & Odds: Tonight's NBA Finals Game 2 Prop Bets (2024)

Welcoming the Dallas Mavericks to TD Garden for Game 2 of the NBA Finals on Sunday, the Boston Celtics will be focused on extending their series lead to2-0,and we have you covered with our best Mavericks vs. Celtics player props based on the topNBA oddsfrom ourbest sports betting sites.

Few people predicted the Boston Celtics absolutely handing it to the Dallas Mavericks in Game 1 of the NBA Finals. The visiting Mavericks were embarrassed in the first half, outplayed individually, all over the court. The Celtics sauntered to a comprehensive 107-89 victory, all but securing the victory before halftime.

As Game 2 approaches, the Celtics are 7-point favorites to triumph over the Mavericks once again. Their dominant performance in Game 1 has solidified their status as the clear favorites by theNBA championship odds. However, they can expect a fierce response from the Mavericks in Game 2, especially if Luka Doncic lives up to his billing as one of the top contenders by theNBA Finals MVP odds.

Here are our best Mavericks vs. Celtics player props andNBA picksfor Game 2.

Mavericks vs. Celtics prop bet predictions for Sunday

Kristaps Porzingis Over 1.5 blocks ⭐⭐⭐⭐

Without a doubt, the biggest story of Game 1 was Porzingis' return from injury and his resounding success as a scorer off the bench. Porzinigs delivered 11 of his 20 points in the first quarter of his NBA Finals debut against his former team.

What was (slightly) less celebrated was his tremendous effort on the defensive end. The 7-foot-2 center blocked three shots in his return from injury - including two in the first quarter - and has now finished with multiple blocks in four of five postseason games and 32 of 62 total games with the Celtics (51.6%).

Even with those numbers in the past and a potential boost in playing time in Game 2, Porzingis is still catching +105 odds to block multiple shots. According to our odds converter, those odds imply a 48.78% chance of him doing it again on Sunday with a $10.50 profit on a $10 wager if he does.

Maxi Kleber Over 0.5 threes ⭐⭐⭐⭐

After living on a steady diet of lobs in the first three rounds, Dallas attempted just one alley-oop in Game 1 - tied for its fewest all postseason - and the team's traditional bigs struggled to defend Boston's five-out approach on the other end.

So coach Jason Kidd turned to the veteran Kleber midway through the second quarter, and the Mavericks started switching everything defensively with better spacing on the offensive end. Kleber himself didn't attempt a 3-pointer, but his mere presence helped Dallas cut a ballooning deficit and teased a potential adjustment for Game 2.

In the end, Kleber saw his most playing time (18 minutes) since injuring his shoulder in Round 1. He's attempted 3.5 triples per game in his other four postseasons contests with at least that much run, and I like his chances of converting at least one 3-pointer on Sunday at even money.

Daniel Gafford Under 7.5 points ⭐⭐⭐

Kleber's elevated playing time came at the direct expense of Gafford, who played 14 minutes in Game 1 - tied for his second-fewest this postseason - and logged a mere four minutes of action in the second half.

Gafford is simply a poor fit in this series on both ends of the floor: he isn't quick enough to defend the Celtics' sweet-shooting bigs on one end, and he doesn't provide any spacing on the other end. That's a tough combination when those easy looks above the rim aren't as abundant as they have been all postseason long.

Gafford did (barely) clear this total in Game 1, but I suspect his playing time could be even worse on Sunday, especially if Kidd opts for Kleber down the stretch to improve spacing on both ends.
